Winemaking Steps at Lakeland Winery

Step 1

Step 2

  • Pick a date and time for your first winemaking appointment from our online appointments page to set up your custom winemaking journey.
  • We make wine on Fridays 4pm-7:30pm, Saturdays from noon-7 pm, Sundays 12pm – 4pm. Each 6 gallon carboy makes about 30 bottles.
  • Need more help or have questions? Get in touch with us at office@lakelandwinery.com or visit our Contact Us page.

Step 3

  • Bring food or snacks to complement the wine.
  • Select wine from our list of more than 20 fruit, premium, international and dessert wines.

Step 4

Step 5

  • Wine takes 7 weeks to ferment.
  • You may choose to either: (1) return the second week to rack your wine or (2) let us take care of the racking & stabilizing steps for you.
  • You return to the winery on the seventh week to bottle, cork, and label your wine bottles – don’t forget to book your appointment!

Wine Aging Guidelines

Your wine is safe to drink after bottling, but will not taste pleasant without proper aging.

  • Fruit wines are ready to drink immediately.
  • White wines need 3 to 6 months to age.
  • Red wines need 6 to 12 months to age.

Referrals for individuals organizing / hosting a group winemaking event:

  • Receive a discount on your custom winemaking package if your group makes three (3) or more wine packages. Each winemaking package yields roughly 30 bottles of wine.
  • Ready to make wine? Visit our appointments page to book a custom winemaking appointment.

We look forward to meeting you and your friends.
