Guess Who’s Featured in USA Today Travel?

Lakeland Winery, that’s who! We have our very own spot in an article all about different places to make wine around the world. Check it out here:  10 Ways to Make Your Own Wine

Not to brag, but you know, that’s us listed described alongside wine-making spots in Italy, Argentina and Napa Valley.

Listen to Andy on Sunny 102’s Big Mike in the Morning March 18th!

It might be a teensy bit early for wine, but our very own wine guru, Andy Watkins will be talking with Big Mike on Sunny 102.1 FM at 8 a.m. about Lakeland Winery and our booth at Nurses Night Out.

Nurses Night Out gives nurses some much needed R&R, and Lakeland will be there handing out free samples of our wines. We’ll also be giving away buy-one, get-one free coupons for a glass of wine.

Nurses Night Out is March 25th from 6-9 p.m. at the Syracuse Sheraton University Hotel.

The Return of Belligerent Bastard

The Return of Belligerent Bastard

It’s back! Belligerent Bastard, our crisp, New York Diamond white was mischievously tinted green by a leprechaun just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, and it’s ready for you! Stock up before it’s gone.

At Lakeland, we’ve been celebrating the Bastard’s return, and we tipped our hats to the holiday with the Belligerent Bastard Bash on March 1.

We had a raucously good time with live music, good friends and great food. Butternut Creek Revival entertained us with their awesome acoustic folk rock. We chowed down on Lakeland Winery foodie Kathie Lilley’s Scotch eggs, mini meat pies and Reuben dip. Nothin’ Fancy Fudge, sold exclusively at Lakeland Winery, premiered its out-of-this- world fudge. Oh yeah, we also drank some wine.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and making this event at Lakeland such a blast!

In case you missed it, here are some great moments from the Bash:

Butternut Creek Revival’s acoustic folk was perfect for a St. Paddy’s Day bash.

How to Make Your Own Wine Label

Part of the fun of making your own wine is getting to personalize the wine bottles. But if you’re anything like me and your talent lies more in drinking wine than graphic design, Wine Folly has some great tips on making your own wine labels.

Wine Folly suggests mimicking commercial brand labels. Don’t copy them, but use them as inspiration. Think about the classic designs or the newer, cheeky wine labels. You might go for something old fashioned or modern. Don’t forget the basic information all wine labels should have:  the name and date of the wine, the “brand,” the actual variety or blend of the wine, and credit to the actual winery, wine and vintage.
